Haters Gonna Hate

Hate, a word that is an opposite of Love and also the mostly used word after Love.
As much as there is love in the world, the same amount of hate exists too.
People have been hating others since the birth of time
Some for reasons unknown
Some because there is nothing better to do
And some because they never knew love
I guess the above three are reasons enough, if you do have a new one then do tell
What makes people hate people, honestly they don't know themselves
But they hate someone and that is what matters to them
I don't hate people unless I have a legit reason to do so
Other times I simply don't care
However, if anyone does come up to me and tell me that they hate me, for reason best known to them I am obliged to give them a reason to hate me more.
That way I am happy and they are umm... sad I guess, well pathetic will be a much better word
The weapon that I carry with me whenever I come across people who hate me is such a powerful one and effective too, at times I wonder why many don't use it
That weapon is :drumrolls:
My smile :)
Nothing pisses off your haters more than seeing the person they hate is happy
It's really effective, you should try it too if ever you come across one.
Sometimes this hate can make people go really crazy and do stuff that they only thought of doing but never tried it.
It's called hurting the ones they hate, done at times through verbal abuses, physical violence which may result at times the death of the victim.
Another viewpoint is this-Love
Love is what makes people hate others and hurt themselves too
I don't understand how love is a reason for people's hate, but it is and quite shocking too
Either being rejected by their lover or not being loved by the person they thought loved them
At times the reason is not love but a really stupid take on the person's behavior
Whether they hate how a person breathes, how they look, talk, smell, behave etc.
They need a reason to hate someone and they find it somehow
Is there an end to this?
No. As long as stupidity exists in the human race, hate will prevail and so will love
But we all have to accept an old saying
Waiters gonna wait
Haters gonna hate
Explanation for those who haven't heard the above terms before:-
A waiter will wait a table cause its his job
So a hater will hate people as that's his job too
Why do we have worry about who hates us and who doesn't
As long as we say that phrase to ourselves
We can live a happy life and let our haters sulk all the time
Because we have accepted that saying and made it a part of our lives
Well, that's all folks!!

Its A Buy/SALE Thing

I don't usually shop for clothes but when I do it's during a sale
That four letter word women love to hear more than the other four letter word-love
Whenever there's a huge sale in any mall having lots of retail outlets, the scene on that day resembles an apocalypse
Everyone hurrying to grab whatever clothes they can find, as long as it fits them, never mind the fact that they might end up buying more than they need
But that's the motive of a sale
A retailer knows that he cannot sell anything without a discounted rate.
Clothes aren't cookies, even cookies don't attract people's attention unless they smell it from far away
That's how discounts work, the discount is the smell and the clothes are the cookies
I recently went to a big sale at the mall near my home, Oberoi mall, they have this annual 50% sale on lots of brands and attracts a huge crowd
For me I just need to buy a few tees and shirts
But most people come to this sale with one motive, buy anything with a discount, ANYTHING
I've seen women queuing up to get in a shop which can accommodate max 25 people, the queue is way more than 25 people and that queue lasts for a whole day
Mostly comprised of middle-aged women and some younger ones too, while their boyfriends and husbands sit in the corner waiting for their women to call them to pay the bills
The aftermath is that store clearing its stock and getting richer
Though there are some damages due to the over enthusiastic crowd getting in
They don't mind it, a few scratches are nothing compared to the earnings they made
Which I guess is more than the whole yearly earnings
It's real madness this sale, not only is there a traffic jam inside the mall with people stopping and looking but there is a huge jam on the roads too, starting from the mall and going on to Kandivali
The most ridiculous part of this sale is that they also give a discount on the restaurants at the mall, well they must have assumed since you're gonna shop the whole day, you'll be hungry too
How thoughtful of them!
So the non shoppers get a chance to eat more, well, say if a roll on a normal day costs 100 bucks, you'd eat one, but at 50% discount you get to eat two
So much for the money saving aspect of discounts
But hey! at least you won't go hungry for the next few hours
While some restaurants are considerate in offering a discount on all food items, others give a discount only on the drinks, non-alcoholic of course
They must have realized that after eating so much, people do feel thirsty and nothing beats a cheap glass of cola, unless it's mixed with rum
After the day is done and all the people have walked out with heavy bags and empty wallets, which would have been less empty if it wasn't for that sale, the only job left for the sales person is counting cash and unloading all the good stock of clothes for display, as the bad one's were already sold to some unlucky soul who only came to buy a pair of jeans but walked out with tees, shirts, pants and a box of donuts as it's better to eat something sweet when you take a look at what you bought and cry over it.
The next day life returns back to it's normal self at the mall and the retailers lie in wait for the next sale to hit and bring with it another storm of people wanting to buy another set of clothes they never wanted to wear.
I wonder how long it will take for online shopping to take over the retail stores and cut out the crowds
Once it does happen, how will the retailers react? but one thing is for certain this SALE concept will never die and the day isn't that far when everything will only be sold at a discounted rate, if that does happen, empty wallets will be a common sight like the bulky shopping bags and stores with the words sale painted in the windows, big enough to hide the name of the shop
Who cares what the shop is called, they are only interested in the word sale, whether you're shopping at Reebok or Reebuk as long as it has the word sale it doesn't matter
So next time a sale hits any place near you, get ready to see the magic that no other magician can show you
One more thing, carry a lot of cash or your credit card as you will need it more than you think.

It Wasn't Me

As kids, me and my brother would often do some mischief's
Sometimes our mother would find it out and sometimes it went unnoticed
But whenever she found out, she would ask us who was responsible
As expected we would blame each other, though it was my brother the real trouble maker
She would punish us, sometimes my brother and most times me
I was a bad liar, I still am but my brother wasn't
My mother could see through my lies and not his
So I was the assumed culprit
Even though I was innocent
But that didn't stop us from causing trouble
And blaming each other
Today as grown ups that habit of blaming each other hasn't stopped
I guess old habits die hard or in my case don't die at all
But this is something that I've noticed most often
People blaming others just to escape the wrath of their mistakes
They do this thinking that they are free from a certain responsibility and the onus is now on those whom they have blamed
What they don't know is, that in blaming someone they have involuntarily created an enemy of one who never had a grudge against them
Putting it in a better way, they dug their own grave
In this crazy world of ours people look for an excuse to unleash their anger and anger in the form of revenge is a justice that they believe in universally
Be it a small mistake in work or at play, anywhere big or small if there's someone who's been blamed for something they didn't do and are punished for it, the only consolation that they give themselves is a revenge on those who were at fault originally
Most of the criminals who rot in jails world over are inside because of someone who had blamed them
Now they might not have been criminals in the start but once they are out they only think of committing a crime in the form of revenge
This world would have been a much better place if many people had owned up to their fault and not blamed others
But that's not the way the world works
Innocents die for crimes they didn't commit
While the criminals fight each other to be called innocent
All of this just to escape the truth, which as they say is bitter
The most absurd thing is that people now have started blaming others for all the small things that don't matter
It's a matter of their pride and ego which shouldn't be hurt
No matter the consequences and the outcome
As the saying goes "To err is to human and to forgive is to god"
Today that saying has changed, a better version would be this
"To err is to human and to blame other is saintly"

Less Talk, More Rock

The title for today's post is from an album of my current favorite punk rock band Propagandhi.
It's also a good song from that album and very much punk rock in nature
I like that title as it in a way describes who I am
Less talker and more rocker, punk in general although I do associate myself with other forms of rock, but punk rock is in a way rebellious and better to sound whenever I play my guitar
Usually people ask me all the times as to why do I not talk more, I having nothing to say to them keep my silence, vowing to come with a good excuse the next time anyone asks
But really it's not that, I do talk, sometimes a lot, to the surprise of many, but it's not for the sake of talking or getting my opinion heard it's mostly cause I really don't care what they think
How did it happened? why I don't talk too much,
The answer is pretty shocking 'I DON'T GIVE A DAMN', but don't expect me to keep my silence everywhere I go
There are times when I initiate a conversation and some times I join in, while mostly I keep quiet listening to what others have to say than saying something
I like to know stuff and when somebody is talking about things I don't know enough I prefer to let that person speak and increase my knowledge on that topic than being that person who likes to change topic of conversations all the times
And for those who don't know me well or rather haven't seen me drunk, I talk, I talk a lot, sometimes it's bullshit or serious stuff or humor but I talk
Some compare me to as Raj from TBBT, if you don't know what it is then I prefer you to die or google it, mainly cause I only talk when I'm drunk
Others however say that I talk to them more or them more, yada yada
I like to chill out and have a good time when I'm with people but mostly some dumbasses would say stuff like 'hey you! say something or maybe a word'
In my mind the only word that I think right for that moment is 'what' and that pretty much pleases everyone
But this talking and non-talking nonsense almost costed me a job opportunity or so that I think, i'll tell you
I went for the interview with my grandfather at the place i'm currently working in and after I met my boss and settled on the seat opposite him, my grandfather said these golden words that i'll never forget as long as I live
"He is my grandson and he doesn't talk and wants to get into advertising"
My boss looked from my grandfather to me and back again with a confused expression while I felt a trickle of sweat going down from my forehead and only thinking as how close I was to getting a job and now I won't get one
Surprisingly my boss replied 'Advertising is all about ideas, if you cannot get ideas you cannot do advertising'
I looked relieved knowing nothing could go wrong now and agreed to his words
Coming to the rock part, this one's my favorite
If ever anyone comes to talk to me anything related to guitar and stuff, I immediately get on with it, as it being my favorite subject of conversation which most don't talk about
I don't mind cause in the end I go home to my guitar, crank up the volume and play with every emotion and dedication for the stuff I had to deal with on that day
Cause when I'm with my guitar, I am in a world that I created for myself and where no one can go to say 'hey talk something'
My reply to them would be "Hey fucker, listen to this" and a nice squealing harmonic from my guitar to start a long set of songs and practice in silence.

Rain, You Kidding Me!

Monsoon is typically the favorite weather of mumbaikars,
What makes them love this climate so much?
If you ask me then it has something to do with the summer,
Those 3 months of torturous heat makes you beg for the rains to come early
And when the first set of rains hit the city, everybody well almost everybody comes out to greet the rains, getting wet and all,
Some take on to the social media and describe how they love the smell of the rains, the taste of raindrop in their mouth and the weather outside, never actually going out in the rain,
While some go out and shop for new umbrellas and raincoats,
This new found love for the weather lasts for one week, sometimes two depending if it's sunny
Then comes a day when it rains way too much and that's when the love for the rain actually turns to hate
People cursing as how they got wet, reached office late as roads were water-logged and the trains, the life line of the city coming to a halt much to the dismay of regular travelers
Most places get flooded and while some find enjoyment in seeing the streets all filled with water for some its a kind of hell
The best part is played by the BMC and their planners about how to deal with potholes, the only solution that they ever come up every year is the same one they had for the last year which I guess must have been since the time the roads were invented.
My brother would often ask my mother whenever it rained, why couldn't it rain only in the night and why the whole day,
To which my mother would reply, that the same thing people sleeping on the streets would say, why does it rain in the night and not only during the day.
My brother not having anything to say after that would shut up and change the topic as quick as he brought it up
Mothers, if there's a reason why they're called that then I guess what my mother said is a proper example.
I just being a spectator in their conversation left the room grinning at the ill luck of my brother as like him even I can't come up with a good come back to any of my mother's statements.
These rains do make me think and most of the people agree that the rain clouds have a mind of their own,
Unless you don't step out of your house to go somewhere or leave from a place to return home it won't rain
The rains want you to get drenched no matter how covered you are, if you think your umbrella can save you, then a little gust of wind is enough to blow it away from your head and let your face get wet.
There's still a couple of months to go until it stops raining but until then we have to deal with it , so don't think of keeping your rain gear locked in the cupboard if you ever see a sunny day one of these days, as you might have given up on the rains but I'm sure they won't have given up on you.

Gear Set Go!

A few days ago I was travelling in a BEST bus back to home from work, the bus was being driven by an old guy past his retirement age but going strong.
The bus came to a halt at a stop and a guy tried to board it from the first entrance, I was standing ahead with a clear view of the driver and the road in front.
The driver saw that fellow trying to board and in a persuasive and polite way he asked him to board from the back,
The guy protested but seeing the age of the driver he complied and got off the steps,
In that moment the signal turned green and the driver hit the pedal zooming ahead and leaving behind the man swearing at him, but the later journey wasn't all that fast paced as that signal incident,
The driver made sure that the gear didn't go more than the 3rd and at times not leave the 2nd, even if the road ahead was empty for most cars to go ahead with ease,
A few passengers were egging him on to hit the accelerator and avoid creating a traffic jam but he was busy swearing at other drivers to go fast.
I managed to get off at my stop after a delay of 10-15 mins from the usual arrival time but it got me to thinking that why are we all in a hurry?
Whenever I used to take my car out to travel I would notice how really impatient the drivers would get even if they had to stop their cars for two seconds and how they would zoom ahead on an empty highway, whereas I who wanted to taste a bit of speed for myself felt restricted due to the presence of my mother in the backseat, but luckily she cannot stop me from speeding while I played NFS unless it was a call for lunch or dinner.
So getting back to the topic, this impatience is what I can say an Indian habit of ours,
We are used to getting food faster than our paychecks and the day we don't get a seat in a local train is a sign of our day being bad, but is there really a way to change all of it?
I'd say naah...cause it's easy to take an Indian out of India but you can't take India out of that Indian.
But it's true that we are in a hurry, well almost all of us, some people love being lazy,
I count myself as one of them, though it's true I get up early every morning but not without a protest and stealing 5 more extra minutes of sleep,
Being lazy is good but at times you have to be fast as well, as the saying goes the early bird gets the worm, but nobody asks what the worm gets, he gets death if you ask me.
Be fast in your life but you have to choose whether you want to be the worm or the bird that day.

Pilot

Like the first episode of any new show is called a pilot, so here it is my very first blog.
Why is it called a pilot? if you ask me then I guess it has something do with taking off the show and making it successful.
Some shows get popular and go on to last more seasons, while some unfortunate ones are scrapped even before the pilot is aired.
So yeah I can say that this post has in a way got something to do with my blogs becoming popular or maybe not popular.
Anyways, getting on, I've never written much but yeah this is the first time I've ever gotten into writing about stuff that I don't know much about, but being that clever enough to present it to you in way that you might claim - "this fella knows stuff'.
I'll start off with what got me into reading books and writing stuff, at a pretty young age I got addicted into reading a certain series of novel called 'hardy boys' which was introduced to me by my sisters who used to read them regularly and although I didn't understand most of the stories, it felt good to read them.
Then came inspiration in the form of harry potter books which opened up my mind to think up of stuff and possibly write about it.
I never got to write much having lost the plot after one or two chapters but the stories had already formed in my mind.
The movies in those series might not be as great as the books, but since when did any movie became greater than the book on which it was based on.
I also enjoyed watching Hollywood films and a chosen few Hindi films, I have to admit I learnt speaking most of the English practically by watching those movies and assuming that it was how English was spoken until I heard my English teacher speak it,  shattering my whole assumption, though I didn't understand most of them movies but they became a part of my life, especially coming from a family who were into film making and advertising.
Talking about advertising, I've been exposed to this world the same time I read my first novel, watching my grandfather direct commercials and also going to ad shoots, they were fun to watch being made and when it finally appeared on the tube, watching it in its final form even though knowing the hard work put behind it amazed me, It was not until I studied the subject did it interest me into being a part of it, I liked the idea of having my words become the identity of a brand and it being a creative field I wanted to do nothing else.
Another part of my life that I have dedicated to is my guitar.
I got influenced into 90s rock by a band going by the name of 'Nirvana' and after having bought their albums from various music stores I decided to learn their songs on the guitar,
So after months and months of learning I could manage to become better at it and discovered more and more bands and playing their songs on my guitar.
I never intended to form a band of my own and become a part of the growing rock scene in this country, though I do have my own share of playing for the crowd or the residents of the building that I live in during a fateful new year's eve, now I have been playing for 6 years and never looking to stop.
So I've written about all sorts of stuff that pretty much has been influencing me from the movies to the books to the ads to the guitars well almost everything that shouts creativity, It's not much but for a start it's something and I guess now it's time to answer my creative call and say let's do something creative today!
